Shadow Lake Beach is now handicapped accessible for those using wheelchairs and walkers
A 133′ Mobimat, five feet wide, has been laid from the left side of the parking lot down to the water, and extends into the water to about three feet in depth, with the end marked with a floating noodle. A submersible wheel chair is attached to the fence near the parking lot with a bicycle cable and combination lock. Phone the Town Clerk’s Office to get the combination. 802 525-6227
Anyone going into the water in the wheelchair needs to have an assistant with them. Bring your own cushion and a strap to secure yourself in the wheelchair.
The Town of Glover is using ARPA funds to make this much needed improvement to our public beach. Please give us your feedback, so we can get this arranged in the best way for our friends who need it to access the water.
The entire parking lot in front of the beach is reserved for handicapped and mobility challenged patrons. If you are able bodied, please park in the lot across the road.
Dennis Gibson, Peggy Day Gibson and Diane Rodgers secured the mat to the beach. It will be rolled back up before winter.
